A wall of tactile, light-responsive material tiles

Four functions, one wall

Four materials, four ways of responding to touch and light
Natural materials with a soft structure create gentle, cozy tactile elements. Uneven fiber thickness in the weave creates a subtly uneven texture that light passes through, giving the surface dimension. A functional bonus: it absorbs mid- and high-frequency sound.
A transparent material whose visual character and interaction with light depend on how its surface is processed. Uneven, relief-textured glass scatters light into water- and wave-like effects that add to the atmosphere.
Smooth yet textured, warm to the touch, with grain grooves you can feel — wood gives gentle haptic feedback. Against light it creates striking visual contrast between dark tones and glow, and it's easily worked into precise shapes.
A cold, smooth-surfaced material that adds contrast to the piece; how it's finished determines how it reflects light.
From a single home object to a gallery-scale installation
